Alexei Navalny: The Hero That Never Was
Western Media Has Created a Hero from a Trump-like Character
Putin is clearly responsible for the death of Alexei Navalny. Putin, who doesn’t tolerate dissidents well, previously kicked Navalny kicked off the ballot when Navalny ran against Putin in 2018. Navalny was also poisoned in 2020 with a nerve agent, which he believed was a Putin attempt to kill him. He also stood trial and was jailed for the crime of “extremism”. There is no attempt by me to support the actions of Putin, rather my objection is the deceitful way that Navalny has been valiantly portrayed by the mainstream media. Navalny is no hero.
The western media supports establishment positions, even if means ignoring history and manufacturing the present. It is a common tactic for the US media to cleanse bad actors to accomplish its political goals. Look no further than how George Bush Jr, once our leading mass murderer, has been turned into a sweet, harmless and endearing old man who gave mints to Michelle Obama. Henry Kissinger spent much of his life being regarded as an elder statesman. The Ukraine had a Nazi problem that was discussed often until the run-up to the war, and now is no longer mentioned. Joe Biden, a long time Neo-Liberal, was cleansed of his many sins such as the 1994 crime bill that he architected, his cheerleading for the Iraqi war and the numerous times he advocated for cutting social security.
It’s no surprise that we are told that Navalny was a freedom fighter, a martyr who died for democracy and a man with integrity who should be held up as a hero and deserves a hagiography of his blessed life. The only problem with this narrative is that it’s a fiction created by the media.
Navalny was an extremist. He was a white nationalist and was strongly anti-immigration. He once dressed as a dentist in a video saying, “Everything in our way should be carefully but decisively removed through deportation”. This is an obvious comparison of immigrants to rotted teeth. Navalny also compared immigrants to “flies and roaches” in a video that has made it way around the internet. He stars in this disturbing video that was released by a group he started, the Russian National Liberation Movement (A nationalist organization). The basic idea is that he believes in swatting roaches with a slipper and removing immigrants with a handgun.
Have a look at our new “hero” in action:
In other unsavory acts, Navalny supported Putin’s war in Georgia, where he referred to Georgians as “rodents”. Additionally, Russia has an annual “Russian March”, a gathering of an assortment of far-right groups that has taken place since 2005. Navalny has attended this event several times. The group apparently railed against immigrants during these marches.
He did say he is sorry for these actions, an apology which can only be accepted if you’re looking for a reason to prop someone up as a scion of democracy. Navalny opposed Putin but was not a hero of freedom by any means. The US declared him worthy of support because he opposed Putin, not because they believed he would bring democracy to Russia. Navalny was a convenient figure that suited the needs of the political establishment. You would think the US would have learned the folly of the-enemy-of-enemy-is-my-ally strategy that backfired with our support for Al-Qaeda and others. As we have seen with the Ukrainian war, the United States is willing to support dangerous people on the right, as long as they meet the immediate needs. A very dangerous tactic bound to have blowback at some point.
if Navalny was a great democratic model that left an impactful impression on Russia, the Russians seem unaware of that. The study below shows that the largest approval rating Navalny received from any age group is 25%. The lowest support for any age group is 10-12%.
It’s worth noting that a US citizen living in the Ukraine, Gonzalo Lira was arrested and tortured by the Ukrainian government because he spoke up against the Ukrainian war. Clearly, our “democratic” ally doesn’t permit freedom of speech. Lira died in jail January 12. The official cause of death was pneumonia, most likely from neglect. In one of his last letters to his father, he wrote “I have had double pneumonia (both lungs) as well as pneumothorax and a very severe case of edema (swelling of the body). All this started in mid-October but was ignored by the prison”. His father tried in vain to get help from the US embassy. At one point, Lira attempted to go to Hungary for political asylum, but was stopped at the border.
The US media paid little attention (if any) to this story, because it didn’t meet the narrative they wanted to enforce about the Ukraine. Stories of governments torturing people is reserved for our enemies. The hypocrisy is doubly frightening: the lack of reporting of the story and the inaction of the US to help their own citizen.
I still don’t see a valid, reason why Putin would have killed him. Putin had him locked up in Siberia…what threat could Nalvany pose from there?
If you really dig, far beyond legacy media, it’s quite obvious to me that, Navalny died of natural causes. However, those causes, perpetrated by his proximity at the “hand” of Putin, is the only way anyone can point the finger in any certain way.
Putin as a global villain is merely a result of propaganda. I’m not saying everyone in Russia is living in a CocaCola commercial but, most Russian citizens love Putin, and it’s not because they fear him (necessarily). One must visit the Bear to understand this.
The “new red scare” has been manufactured by lifelong bureaucrats (Biden, Blinken, Nulan), to take our eyes off the “real red scare” which is China.
Putin has to be stopped so the money laundering funnels of Ukraine and China can stay openly flowing.

Thanks. Ralph Nader had a guest who praised N. I commented that there was considerable evidence he was not who the media made him out to be. The verdict is not totally in for me, but what you have written is corroborative.
