Ukraine may collapse by then

Thanks Mike. "Ukraine would be firing US missiles launched from within Ukraine with the help of US technology, such as satellites and US personnel. Putin is not wrong to say it would be a declaration of war." Yes, and how many Americans even recognize the brink we are on.

I wonder if Biden is calling the shots in Ukraine. He skipped cabinet meetings for a year, and the press gave him a pass on it. When he did hold a cabinet meeting last week, Jill came along and began the presentation. This will be Biden's get-out-of-jail-free card. WWIII in Ukraine and the genocide in Gaza weren't his fault; he was just following orders.

Russia will not allow Ukraine to join NATO and have missiles lined the Russian border, where a hypersonic missile from a mobile launcher can hit Moscow in six minutes. No responsible Russian leader would allow exposing its capital to such a risk.

Why does Putin seem like the most sensible and most restrained world leader we have right now?

It does seem that way at times.

Because he is the only adult in the room (world). He understands the consequences.

Nobody and I mean Nobody will win anything with this stupid charade.

He has been a very cool customer. The patients that he has shown to the world and the lack of a strong answer to the blowing of the gas pipeline has been taken by the Neocons as a weakness. The question is how do we stop as a citizens of the world this madness. Praying for that.

One small correction. What's going on in Gaza is not a 'war.' It's a massacre.

It’s a good thing! You do know Palestinians have been Hamas since 2005. 10/7 atrocities and attacks warrant whatever the state of Israel sees fit.

If you believe otherwise…the cognitive dissonance is strong in you. As the gaslighting has taken it a toll and you can’t see the real issue can you?

The new age Nazis are the democrats…try reading next time. There is a whole wing of the democrat party that chants “from the river to the sea” calling for the eradication of the state is Israel. That’s new age Nazi style!!

With Blinking Dimdum and Two Tier Kier not using their brains the world is much closer to WWIII.

Oh yes we are. We need an adult in the room to cool this down. But there isn’t one

"Remember, this war can be ended by a call from the US to declare Ukraine a NATO-neutral country."

So true, but the war could be ended with the US declaring itself a NATO-Neutral country.

Please put a call in for the love of God’s country and our children to stop this madness President Biden! Declare Ukraine as a NATO independent nation.

This is really good news, Michael, even if we don't know what the future holds.

I also just read that the Uncommitted movement will not endorse Kamala Harris over her support and continued supply of weapons and money to Israel.

I had to repost this statement from your article, because people need to understand this. Russia has no intention of invading Europe.

"That narrative that Russia wants to march through Europe does not hold water. There are many holes in that theory. “Marching through Europe” would involve attacking NATO countries. If one NATO country is attacked, the others must respond. That certainly would be the onset of WWIII. As Mearsheimer said, “It’s just not a serious argument”.

It’s a sobering thought to think how we have gone from HW Bush’s promise to have NATO keep its distance from Russia to Biden’s begrudging stand-down."

It is not a serious argument, but it just keeps getting repeated.

Yes probably because they know it’s not true. Just like how many times the media told us the Russian invasion was an “unprovoked attack” . No other war was ever labeled that way.

Expand full comment

One can argue about the justification of the Russian attack, but to call it unprovoked is to mark one as a dope or a shill.

That phone call would have to include BOUNDARIES. Russia paid in blood for the 4 oblasts and aren’t going to part with them. Russia has likely advanced several kilometers as I write this.

No. The United States is waiting until after the elections.

Striding towards WWIII will not be popular, so it cannot be put to the voters.

So well said Michael. All the campaign blather is meaningless. The Ukraine war and the dangerous ideologues running it, is the main issue in this election. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for Harris after listening to her aggressive acceptance speech. There are many things I dislike about Trump, but am tempted to vote for him if only because a glimmer of hope that he is sincere about ending the the war.

I think even if he wants to end it, he would have to take on the deep state. I’m not sure any mortal can do that

The immediate threat is not from Russia. It is from the enraged beast, the Imperial Anglo-American Empire that needs more blood to survive the on-rushing financial collapse. Their last roll of the psyops dice is to bluff Putin with a pre-emptive nuclear strike risking Armageddon. If they lose the bet, they will push the button. When you don't have nothing, you have nothing to lose.

Like this piece - I think Putin realizes that issues become emotionalized in the West, on different topics than is the case in the East.
